History

History

The story was born out of the deep friendship between two anesthesiologists. The grandfather of one of them owned a magnificent terroir in the "Boutenac" appellation. The decision had to be made whether to abandon the heritage or keep it. The decision was taken to keep it but not alone, in association, because sharing potentiates the energies and the chances of success.

At first, the harvest was sold to the cooperative cellar, at the same time as the vineyard was reunited through a qualitative approach. Initiated 17 years ago, this strategy made it possible to release the first vintage in 2010. It is time to show the company that long-term strategies pay off.

Grape varieties

The grape variety was chosen to obtain a quality wine for the whites, rosés and reds: Cinsault and Grenache for the rosés, Macabeu and Vermentino for the whites, Grenache, Syrah and Carignan for the reds with a special mention for the Mourvèdre that we have already tested in Bandol, Mourvèdre present at 50% in the Schurando 2014 vintage.

Production

Production

Yields are very low in the order of 20 to 25 hecto/hectare with zero pesticides and sustainable agriculture. There are still many old vines, some of which are still pruned in goblet (typically Carignan).

The harvest is 50% mechanical. The wine is yeasted with precision due to the high concentration of the wine and the recent nature of the installations which have not yet given time for the indigenous yeasts to develop. This vineyard is in the process of being developed and numerous trials are in progress.
